Dominion Diving have
been subcontracted by Strait Crossing Joint Venture to undertake
on an exclusive contract basis diving works related to the construction
of the ‘Confederation Bridge’ over the Northumberland
Strait – Prince Edward Island – Canada.
During the performance of these works
between August 1994 and November 1996, their performance was exemplary
in all disciplines of their varied scope of works which included,
but not limited to:
• Surveillance of dredging activities
and trench clean up operations in water depths between 30’
– 130’.
• Surveillance of tremie concrete operation under pier base
foundations in water depts. Between 30’ – 130’
– volume poured approximately 44,000 cubic meters.
• Placement of scour protection concrete at the East and west
Approaches to the Main Bridge – Volume poured approximately
3,000 cubic meters.
• Installation of cathodic protection anodes, anode boxes
and relevant wiring.
• Jetty sweeps and miscellaneous diving works.
At the peak of marine construction activities,
Dominion Diving had on site 50 divers, including their superintendents
and project manager.
Diving equipment, both conventional and
specialized, were supplied by Dominion Diving on a hired basis for
the duration of their works.
I have no hesitation in recommending Dominion
Diving for other works of this magnitude and complexity.
